We got the library's special VIP treatment - getting the chance to explore their special collection of books, that raises the question - is it a book?

A book has a spine, title, author's name and a cover - that's what is considered as a book.. right ?

I came across The Book by Scherubel which certainly looks like a book but whether it is considered as a book is the big question.

what's inside the book is just a block of foam. To me it's still a book/ my definition of a book is that it is a book as long as it tells you a story of some sort.

Well the fact the author/artist has decided to use a block foam certainly raises a mystery and us as the readers can imagine millions of reasons as to why the foam is used. so to me, it is a book.

It's a pretty clever way to publish a book if you don't like writing - I wish I came up with this idea

One of the other books that caught my eye is 'White ass European cowboy' by Arno which had pages made of old records.

I loved this one especially because you get to feel the texture of the old records and get to read the title of the music and how the centre have been designed.

For this mini project we were to choose any book and rant - good or bad

I went ahead with this book called Cut Out by Denise Hawrysio as to me the story behind the reason of this book interested me the most. The book is full of Actor's and Actress's portfolio before technology was a thing.

So their portfolio insisted of just their faces, name, age and height. What the artist did is cut out all the faces. As both sides of the pages had images on them, meant that the artist went over to make sure both sides' faces are fully cut out.

To me it related to the idea of - it's all about the looks

And that put my rant/rage level right up .

To me the artist is trying to covey the message of - how will you judge now since their faces are no longer available.
