One of the ideas we came up with for the theme is the concept of highlighting in relation to selecting the important area and choosing this to act as the representative of the theme of editing. So we started playing around with different layouts using the similar look of highlighting a word.

Thinking about what we will end up producing, we thought this type of layout will be too confusing as there are too many letters and it's not clear as to what it's communicating. Scale is another thing we needed to think about as when it comes to the final presentation, the logo has to be presented in very small and increased size to show variation. In order for the logo to be successful, it has to be bold and clear as to what it's trying to communicate in both scales.

These are couple of the ideas we worked on. When looking at the word highlighting, we tried to use the symbol for that to implicate the idea and carried on developing further.

However after some feedback, we understood that these design ideas were not directly linked to editing. It's more linking to just highlighting itself rather than editing. We needed to come up with a symbol that is easily directed to the theme of editing.

That was not easy...
